ADULTS
DEVELOPING COMPLETE MARTIAL ARTISTS
Our adults classes are about developing all aspects of martial arts training – creating modern day Samurai.
ADULT PROGRAMMES
Our adult classes are filled with fitness, learning and socialising. Chiryoku Kempo Ju Jitsu covers all aspects of Martial Arts training as such creating well rounded, complete Martial Artists; capable of handling a variety of attacks stood, sat, on the ground, against a wall against a larger, stronger opponent who is armed or unarmed.
Martial Arts are not merely to create fighters or showmen; respect, humility and quiet confidence are all attributes required to train and advance through CKJJR – and that is what we aim to help you do.
Fitness is of paramount importance to all of us and there is provision for Martial Arts Fitness to be gained in every class, students are encouraged to advance at a comfortable pace whilst still pushing themselves to the next level.
WHATS THE POINT?
CKJJR as aforementioned is a comprehensive and vast Martial Art – we cover ALL aspects of training in order to create a ‘complete martial artist’ who can hold his/her own against other Martial Arts Disciplines or just the thug at the end of the bar.
We are members of the National Governing Body for Ju Jitsu in the UK, which means that you can rest assured that your grades are recognised, to a national and international standard. We are also Clubmark Accredited, Martial Arts Standards Agency Registered and Sports Coach UK Members; which means that you are receiving some of the most qualified and quality assured Martial Arts Training in the UK. Although we teach JAPANESE Kempo Ju Jitsu and we uphold many of the traditions of the Martial Arts our syllabus and training aims to develop CKJJR along traditional lines but ever searching to increase the competence, application and effectiveness of the art.
WHAT SORT OF THINGS WILL I LEARN?
To put it bluntly we learn strikes, kicks, locks, holds, throws, submissions, grappling, use and defence of modern and traditional weapons, strategy, fundamental principles of attack and defence as well as modern morality, martial virtues and Martial Arts and the Law.
However it is the personal, physical, mental and to a certain extent spiritual development gained from classes which is most valuable.

All of our Adult classes follow roughly the same routine;
WARM UP
This is required in order to make sure our bodies are prepared for training – we get the blood pumping and joints limber.
FITNESS
Usually some fitness is done after the warm up to increase stamina, strength etc.
NON-SYLLABUS SECTION
Syllabus is what we learn to progress from one belt to the next and eventually to black belt, however to become a truly Complete Martial Artist our competence and technical repertoire must be continually challenged, shaped and advanced. As such this section is dedicated to experiment and diversity – as Sensei (Instructor) has a vast array of Martial Arts knowledge this is usually an interesting and challenging part of the lesson
SYLLABUS TRAINING
Studies have shown that we must perform an action 300 times before it becomes ‘natural’ without hesitation or thought. As such certain skills and techniques must be continually perfected and practiced .
Our Syllabus is demanding, vast and diverse. Although challenging, Sensei (Instructor) is able to help you progress at a steady pace which suits you, each belt level is designed to help you progress to the next.
PRESSURE TESTING
Towards the end of the lesson we will ‘pressure test’ what we have learnt either in friendly competition or group trials.
WARM DOWN
All lessons end with a warm down, sometimes followed by Meditation. All designed to reduce the risk of injury and settle our mind and body.
